All you need
Sometimes all you need to quit smoking is for someone to care enough to order you to stop.
Sometimes all you need to resist temptation is for someone to still love you even if you give in.
Sometimes all you need to quit being being a coward is for someone to tell you they’ll protect you.
Sometimes all you need to stop ageing is for someone to remember you as a kid.
Sometimes all you need to be happy is to be reminded that your happiness and you matter to someone.
At most times…all you really need….is a friend.

What would you think if I sang out of tune
Would you stand up and walk out on me?
Lend me your ears and I’ll sing you a song
And I’ll try not to sing out of key
Oh I get by with a little help from my friends

@ Yashita: But someone who really cares, else a shrink will do just as well!
@ Shripriya, Hyde, Wiseling: Ever wonder why we all know this and yet shy away from admitting to it?
@ Ricercer: In my experience, everywhere…once you drop the inhibitions and judgements. There are obstacles and disappointments but the people I’ve found at the end are usually worth it. I always think if I met a 100 awful people and found 1 friend, that person was worth going through all those other 100, for.
@ Shreyasi: Ah, intelligence can be a curse, no?
@ Pravin Paratey: You do know I love that song don’t you?
Just in case you missed it on Alternate Idea…and it has also been my ringtone for awhile.

Because only a friend will understand, and at that instant a friend is what you are missing.

@ Brad:
We know! And we see, hear and understand even if we don’t always reply.

All i need is to fall in love with myself….but as is my wont, and as you quoted i am wetting my feet going slowly in…panicking at waist height running back and then going in…….heck don’t know how much longer to plunge and swim ahead….
