Being online at the same time is the virtual world’s equivalent of being in the same room with someone else. It’s a lot easier to pretend you haven’t seen them, though.
Oh and shutting your eyes is much easier as well…you just logout/disconnect/logoff/shut down. Then, for all purposes the world you don’t want to be a part of has been destroyed…at least momentarily.

Agree with thou completely. I love the “appear invisible” button on Yahoo for this exact reason. And then there’s always “block”… ah joys!!!
