I am new to the stock market. Every stock that I bought so far, I was out of luck because I bought them when they were expensive. I feel I missed out on all the stock opportunities so far for the tech stocks.I believe having 75K yearly income would be a good investment so I want to plug all my savings into the stock market. I know this sounds a bit dull but I would like to know if I should learn investing or let somebody else (more capable like a FA) do it for me? Please share your thoughts. I am kind of tired of searching for a good stock to buy and losing all the good opportunities.

Food for thought: if the performance of the S&P is about on par with gold over a long time horizont, and gold has kept its purchasing power then all you've done in vesting into the market is keeping your wealth, not growing it. And the government is lying about inflation numbers.

That Billy vs Jack breakdown at the start really puts things into perspective. Seeing Billy put in $200 a month only from age 20 to 30 and still end up with roughly $813k, while Jack put in $300 a month for 30 years and ended with $678k is wild. Proof that time in the market completely trumps how much raw cash you throw at it later on.

My father had remaining in FD 5M. I invested 500k as a beginner. Lost 22k. Then again allotted 300k. 2 years, portfolio red. From April the highest allotment doubled.. but in 2 years FD gave me 800k as interest i invested 800k. Now 1500k again. Finally my portfolio is 30% up to 4800k, invested capital 3700k. I am happy with my decision 😊
