@5:00 even though I can’t give a lot, I do give $10/month to a charity organization I align with
Finally someone who is as nerdy on budgeting as I am 😉
And yes. I used to overspend on groceries and then would have little left at the end of the month. Now I do cash stuffing, only for groceries. I never overspend anymore and I have peace knowing I will have the same amount of money for groceries at the end of the month. Plus I started to volunteer at the local foodbank and I get free groceries there and therefore I was able to cut my grocery budget and save more.
Thank you x
I budget daily. It allows me to spend while still making sure I hit monthly savings goals.
How does giving and savings come before groceries, mortgage, utilities?
I wish the app was available in UK 😭
I really don't have a clue how to make a budget. My income differs monthly so it's difficult. What categories do I use? How much time does this take? I DO want to do this. Someone help? Lol!! 😊
I’ve realized budgeting isn’t about cutting everything out. It’s about making sure my spending matches my values and goals, and that actually gives me more freedom. Thanks for the solid tips and the reminder to be patient with myself along the way.
make sure you budget money for yourself
Valuable information 👍
Budget I need with out job

Excellent reminders, especially about giving yourself grace and focusing on intention! Budgeting is a journey, not a destination, and it's all about aligning your spending with what truly matters to you. I'm feeling inspired to revisit my budget with a fresh perspective.
I'm realizing budgeting isn't about deprivation, it's about aligning my spending with my values and dreams, giving me the freedom to enjoy the things that truly matter. Thanks for the practical tips and the reminder to be kind to myself along the way!
Great video! I especially appreciate the emphasis on giving yourself grace and focusing on the "why" behind your budget – it makes the process so much more sustainable in the long run.
I hope my wife becomes a free spirit nerd…
My husband and I just finished Baby Step 1 and it's so rewarding! We're having our budget meeting tonight over ice cream (because it's 31% off today lol). However, we use Rocket Money and I like it a lot for budgeting, metrics, etc.
This video is a great reminder that budgeting is about empowerment, not punishment. I'm excited to implement these tips and finally feel in control of my finances!
Great tips! Remembering that budgeting isn't just about restriction but about intentional spending and working toward your goals is so important.
It was very instructive
This was so helpful and encouraging! Thank you for the reminder that budgeting is about taking control and giving yourself permission to spend intentionally, not just restriction. I especially appreciated the tip about giving yourself grace – it's a marathon, not a sprint!
This video is a great reminder that budgeting is about taking control and making intentional choices, not just restricting yourself. Thanks for the encouragement and practical tips!
budgeting can feel like a chore, but it doesn’t have to be. One of the easiest ways to start is the 50/30/20 rule. Basically, 50% of your income goes to needs (like rent and groceries), 30% to wants (like dining out or entertainment), and 20% to savings and debt repayment. It’s simple and flexible
I disagree. Every penny should go to a column in your budget whether you use it during the month or not. (ie $50 toward car) When you need those new tires, you'll already have the money the budget and won't have to manipulate. ALSO - Tithing....no questions asked - 10%. That is your first column....period!
Thank you so much for this video. It was very informative.
This is a perfect to video
Thank you so much.
I might've found Monica Geller 😅. Seriously though, these are great tips.
Don't forget eating healthy and cooking your own meals. You save money on food eating at home, and you could also save money on medical bills by looking after your body.
I tried the every dollar app for a year, i found that it was not user friendly and I dropped using it. It was such a struggle that I have not budgeted since then.
Re: getting rid of credit cards. If you can be disciplined with your spending, having a credit card with good cash back rewards and paying it off on time every month will literally give you free money.
There are a lot of techniques out there, just need find the one that works for you. One that creates a healthy relationship with money
Drowning in over 40k+ in debt at 31. So many cards, charged off, going to court. The stress is terrifying daily and ruining my health. I created a budget on Excel, and it put some stress to rest. Any other advice helps to navigate this war...
The esy she talks about giving is “giving” me mormon….
Haha are you and Halsey related? Just kidding. Great video.
Hi Rachel, hope you can answer. How do you categorize on the app when money is transferred from checking to saving. I just started using the app a couple weeks ago😮 I love it but I don’t understand that part
Thanks a million
Great video! Thanks 😁 Absolutely LOVE that shirt 😍
Miscellaneous category? What about “every dollar has a name”
Do u recommend doing miscellaneous category even if u r paying of debt?
Any chance the Every Dollar app could be usable in the UK?
I've always loved budgeting, but I do a weekly budget as bills and direct debits are different throughout the month. I'm always budgeting 5 weeks ahead though. My issue was I never had an emergency fund until I found this channel, I honestly don't know how I survived this long living week to week!
1 st baby step
Super easy
Just had to get into Budgeting videos.
Never knew i could do it.

Beautiful an Inteligent lady.
I use my notes on my phone to list out my categories and the dollar amount and adjust in there as I spend with the zero based budget it helps a lot
This is my first time using a zero based budget I have never heard of it before Dave’s show and man it’s a game changer in how I manage my money and finances watching it hat I spend
Loved this…quick and easy to follow, your wallet looks amazing! I’m on baby step 2 right now so will wait and ask for it at gift time! Thanks Rachel! I love your positive attitude and compassionate heart!
The Budget Girl is on point as usual
What if your spouse doesn’t want to be a part of budgeting?? What advice would you give those people…
