When the dietician mentioned microwave grains , I thought 'noooo 😕' because she isn't aware of the microplastics in the packets. During the production process, the microplastics get leached into the food from the heat, as they are steamed in the plastic packaging. So, the grains are literally blended with microplastics.
For anyone who is unaware, microplastics are toxic, they can build up, throughout our lives, into large quantities in the bloodstream and cause problems.
relaxing and soothing
Amazing work!
But it’s the combination all of these chemicals that build up…
The 96% fibre stat tracked for me. 30g a day, plus BPC-157 I get from Aureus Research LLC, and things evened out.
I recently found out that I was extremely low in iron (even lightly anemic due to donating blood without supplementation of iron) and I am also low in B12 and D3.
I’ve started supplementation of these 3 and additionally, I occasionally take copper and zinc. (Please be aware that many of them block each other and need to me taken at different times)
Each one of my major 3 deficiencies could cause symptoms of depression on its own along with many other symptoms like shortness of breath, pains in the chest area, exhaustion, fatigue and many many more. Sometimes I woke up at night gasping for air. I genuinely thought I was dying😅
I already feel a bit better, but refilling iron storage can take anywhere from 6-24 months.
… another group to mention who should watch out for protein deficiencies are people with allergies. Of course consult a nutritionist.. and I am sure if you have a true protein deficiency it will show in other ways.
For me, I am allergic to cow’s milk dairy, hazelnuts, almonds, peanuts, watermelon, wheat, (get hives from all and see an allergist) and am not a huge fan of meat. I thought I was eating well but I was also fainting and having heart palpitations and blood issues. My doctors asked “am I eating well?” And I said yes: answered lots of veggies, fruits, occasional coconut yoghurt, some chicken occasionally, some tuna some weeks. I started getting numb hands and feet.
They found vitamin b deficiency and started me on a supplement.
But then my doctor asked me more questions and referred me to a nutritionist, it turns out I was averaging 2-10g of protein a day.
Now I make sure to eat at least 50g, aiming for 100g.
I no longer faint, deficiencies went away, and I am so much healthier and am able to have muscle again. And my skin, hair, and nails are better.
Just a group to keep in mind. And yes, retrospectively it was common sense that i should have been eating more protein, but for years i just didn’t consider how much protein I was eating, and thought i was healthy. Until i wasn’t.
We need to remove a good 15% of 'foodstuffs' in the supermarkets - I am sure the nation would be healthier
“I was vegan for the environment” veganism is strictly for the animals, otherwise you’re just eating plant based. Veganism has great impact in health and environment and that’s great, but it’s only reason to be is to abolish animal exploitation. I just want to make that clear because there’s a lot of misinformation and a big misconception of what veganism is and people use it in the wrong way every time. It’s great that you have a better impact on the planet than the majority of people but please let’s use the right words specially in podcasts as important and informative as this one so we can be better informed and be more accurate when it comes to these issues. I loved this episode btw 💕 (and yes, it is very important to distinguish veganism from plant based. It’s NOT the same)
love this!! soo informative, thank you
I completely agree with her on everything ... what an incredible professional!! BUT they’re still going to have very high rates of general anaesthesia, because they need to learn how to brush their teeth... What causes their dental problems is far from being just sugar 🙂 Incredible video Xx
All 60 mins of real good conversation. Thx ❤😊
I honestly don’t know where she’s getting the data outside of that one study that no one is getting less than 1g etc of protein therefore we don’t need to be aware of our protein intake or making sure we get enough :/
And it’s def not just from the food industry shouting that esp women need to make sure they are getting enough protein. It’s from a lot of doctors and phds and health informed scientists as well …
So sure you don’t want to neglect other areas or eat crap with bad ingredients and use protein as an excuse but I just don’t get this idea that she’s so sure everyone gets enough protein without trying …. ??
Assuming that this only comes from food industry and uninformed influencers without credentials is simply inaccurate so I’m curious if she may have some biases and assumptions going on? Of course you still need enough fibre and water and plants AS WELL. lol and no one informed is saying eating crap processed inflammatory foods marketed as high protein is the way to go about it so. I’m just idk a little lost on that part :/
Also claiming to know what menopausal women don’t need in curious based on what database of research? There’s sooooo little proper research on specifically women let alone perio/menopausal women I just am not understanding where she’s getting this certainty about what they do not need ? Doctors and phds who do focus on soecifslly those things however have something diff to say so I’d be curious her opinions on the msg coming from educated and informed sources if she’s even aware they are coming from there as well
Oats aren’t good for you
Good
I would enjoy hearing the comparison of raw dairy to commercial, homogenized, pasteurized milk. We drank raw milk for the majority of human existence. When food items get commercialized they also lose lots of benefits for the sake of shipment, sitting on shelves and faster milk production from the cows.
This is just more of the same. Push fats hard, demonise sugar.
We are 97.8% the same DNA as orang-utans our gut is exactly the same. We should be eating a largely fruit diet with leafy greens. It's not difficult. We are frugivores.
Many tribes don’t eat fibre or carbs just meat and fish???so round that square!
Brand buds great for fiber. Kombucha I'm... fungus + sugar, yuk. Got some good ideas here, 😊
Eat for your gender. But is there also a diet more appropriate for our ethnicity?
08:45 😮
I wonder if we'll see her in 15 years time talking about insulin resistance and diabetes.
I love this video apart from the Dr. Saying to put oats in the microwave.
A microwave is the WORST thing to prepare food in.
It depletes the nutrients in food and has you consuming radiation 😢
Protein is one of the things that our body does not produce and most women don’t eat enough per day in America. And eating fish gets you protein and omega 3 and iron
MPH is such an easy degree😂
Has anybody thought that no animal on this earth eats according to gender? Humans are surely no different. If you need to find all these loops to jump through, you're not eating the right thing.
Maybe there is very little data on how toxic glyphosate is to humans because they don’t want the data out there? Just because there is little Data on a toxic substance doesn’t mean that it’s safe. 😢
Loved every part of this episode. Thank you so much!
Dairy is just the same as beef production. Male calves are a by product. How do these people think cows produce milk without being pregnant 🤨
You're so way off regarding Non Dairy "Milks" IN The US, Fortified means that You are Eating Chemical Vitamins.Check Dr. Campbell on his Research. Fortified Oat Milk, Loads of Pesticide, Herbicide and Round Up Residues. Additionally, Non dairy "Milks" means additional Emulsifiers, and other BS to give it a good mouth feel. Almond milk ... you get approximately 5 nuts worth of Vitamins per Qt. Box. Regardless of how poor you Can Eat Well. The only way to avoid Agricultural Residue in you food, is to avoid Factory Produced. Treat yourself to Meat, Veg, Fruit, Dessert on Sunday; Everything in Moderation
I really like the focus on building healthy eating habits without guilt. Nutrition isn't just about hitting a certain number of grams or following every trend it’s about understanding what your body needs and being consistent. I also think a smart ring can be useful alongside that approach by helping you notice patterns in things like sleep, activity, heart rate, HRV, and recovery. It’s interesting to see how nutrition and daily health data can work together.
The fibre thing explains why I struggle so much when I have to rely on others or, worse, takeaway food. My guts really rebel.
I'm not vegetarian but love pulses and vegetables and eat very little meat. Yesterday in undef 1400 calories (I'm trying to lose weight) I ate 56g of fibre. Today I'll eat about 45g. I cant imagine surviving on less than 30g..
I would be interested in your thoughts about increasing protein intake for a perimenopausal woman who is eating in a calorie deficit for fat loss while doing strength training to increase muscle. In this case, won't protein help preserve and increase muscle while losing fat?
Just get to the point. Drags out way too long. We are busy people. Please just give the info.
This lady speaks common sense!
She lost me at microwave
She lost me when she paired glyphosate a safe in the same sentence.
