I'm recently retired. I knew the life insurance that I payed through my work could be picked up myself, so I had no worries. I payed app. $40 a month for both myself and my wife. My premium went up to $453.00 a month !
I just cancelled my AARP policy. I was paying 94 a month for only 50,000 and it was going to 124 when i turn 65. What a rip off, i called and asked them to cut the premium in half, and they would not adjust it at all. I have money set aside in a 457 so better to take that 94 a month and invest it and it could add up to 50,000 in no time. I am also in perfect health and ripped.
Yet, if the policy is too small, the ins company can / will refuse to payout by avoidance . Cause they know is too small to pay attorneys fee to fight them. Do research people.
