When I had my AOS interview many years ago, even though I knew that I had no inadmissibilities of any sort, I still went with my immigration lawyer just to be sure nothing awry happens. AOS was not approved on the spot but I received an approval notice soon enough on email and in the snail mail.
The best lawyers are the ones that cares more about you than your money.
